Are you experiencing issues with your user interface (UI) within ArcGIS Pro?
The following are symptoms you might be experiencing within ArcGIS Pro, alongside a resolution to the described issue.
User Interface Glitches
The interface errors shown above are all a consequence of the Alienware Command Centre. Users are often ambushed by this issue because Alienware and some Dell machines will automate this update, therefore the cause of the glitch is not initially obvious.
Alienware command center is for the purpose of controlling certain features on your computer, primarily for gaming. It does however, interfere with ArcGIS Pro and affect it graphically in a number of unique ways, as shown above.
In terms of remedying the issues, we recommend uninstalling the Alienware Command Centre to restore functionality of ArcGIS Pro.
Annotation/Attribute Pane Issues
There are known instances of the annotation and attribute panes becoming stuck when attempting to make edits within ArcGIS Pro. This will often trace back to the connection of a high DPI (dots per inch) monitor to your machine.
How to change your high DPI settings:
- Go to the Start Menu, right click on the ArcGIS Pro icon, More, Open File Location
- Right click on the ArcGIS Pro Shortcut, click Properties
- Click the Compatibility tab
- Click Change settings for all users
- Click Change high DPI settings
- Check the box for Override high DPI scaling behaviour
- Select System from the dropdown menu
In addition to the above troubleshooting suggestions, when facing User Interface or graphical issues you should check to see if your graphics card drivers are up-to-date.
